Jesus Christ says to
every believing Christian, "John 15:4
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me."
If we abide in Christ, we can do the things he did, that is to please God the Father.
Jesus was and is "God the Word." One way to abide in Christ is to abide in his
word. "John 8:31
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my
word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall
make you free." So, let us study to practice his word so that we may know
the truth. Then as we live according to the truth, our Lord Jesus Christ will
abide in us and we will abide in Christ.
Since Jesus Christ is
the Word, the Bible is text as well as Spirit. "John
6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the
flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit,
and they are life." The spirit gives life,
but not the text. Most Christians study to
understand the text. Only a few Christians study the Bible so that they may abide in the Spirit, the
Spirit of Christ. Having this in mind, I have prepared a few lessons from the
Bible for your study.
