PAGE - FIVE
If
there was a beginning, God was in existence even before that beginning.
God is a Spirit. "John
4:24 God
is a Spirit:" Angels and fallen angels are also spirits. God
gives a spirit to everybody who is genuinely repented of their sins. Among
all these spirits, God's Spirit is the only Spirit who has the unmatchable awesome power attributes.
He is Omnipotent. "Job
42:2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought
can be withholden from thee. Psalms 147:5 Great is
our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
Rev 19:6
--- Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth."
He is Omnipresent.
"Psalms 135:6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that
did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
Psalms 139:7 Whither
shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I
ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold,
thou art there."
He is Omniscient.
"Job 26:6 Hell is naked before him, and
destruction hath no covering. Job 34:21
For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings. 22
There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where
the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. Heb
4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not
manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him
with whom we have to do."
Because of his unique awesome power attributes of the Spirit,
God is God. Or, we may say that this Spirit is God, who has the
Omni-Powers.

God
is also a Soul which is a person. "Matt
12:18 --- my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased.
Heb 10:38 Now the just shall
live by faith: but if any man draw back, my
soul shall have no pleasure in him. Jer
5:9,29 --- shall not
my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?" God created men and women
in His own image. God's image is the Soul (Person) and it is not
the image of the physical body of male and female. "Gen
1:27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
We see that the person of God is similar to the person of man. God
(Person, Soul) has
the character of perfect holiness. Because we also have the same kind of
person as God, He asks us also to be holy and to be perfect as He is
perfect. "1 Peter 1:15 But as
he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Matt 5:48 Be ye
therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

The
Holy Ghost, God the Father, and God the Son are individual Persons in one
Spirit. Each Person is as much God as the other. His eternal
beginning and existence are simultaneous with God the Father and God the
Son.
We see His involvement from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation.
"Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and
the earth. 2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was
upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters.
Rev 22:17
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come."
Every time when God the Word (God Jehovah, Lord Jesus Christ) is doing something, we can see God the Holy Spirit
working side by side. The Holy Spirit is more than power and might.
"Zech
4:6 --- This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by
might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
We call
Him 'God the Holy Spirit'. God
the Father is the giver of God the Holy Spirit.
"John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And
I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may
abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot
receive, because ---: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in
you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring
all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
God the Son baptizes us with the Holy
Ghost. "Matt
3:11
--- he (Jesus Christ) shall baptize you with
the Holy Ghost, and with fire:"
Only those who have repented of their sins and are obedient to the Word can
receive Him.
"Acts
2:38
Then
Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost.
Acts 5:32 ---
so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey
him."
After
receiving Him, we will receive power to do the work of God.
"Acts 1:5
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost
not many days hence. 8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye
shall be witnesses unto me."
He
must be given high reverence as God since the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will
not be forgiven.
"Matt
12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin
and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy
Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men." Nobody should grieve the Holy Spirit.
"Eph
4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God,
---." Lying
to the Holy Spirit was dealt with very severely.
"Acts
5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine
heart to lie to the Holy Ghost,---5
And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up
the ghost:--- 7 ---
when his wife, -- came in.
9 --How
is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord?
---.
10 Then fell she down
straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost:---."
But
He is also the Spirit of
Grace. Again whoever do not heed to the Spirit of Grace, sorer punishment
will be upon them. "Heb 10:29
--- Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, ---
and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?"
The Lord
Jesus Christ told the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit before they go to
the ministry.
"Acts 1:4 And,
being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not
depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith
he, ye have heard of me. 5
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost
not many days hence. 8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy
Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem,
and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
The Holy Spirit visited them in ten days. Holy Spirit took charge of the
Church. "Acts
2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come,
they were all with one accord in one place. 2
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it
filled all the house where they were sitting. 3
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon
each of them. 4 And
they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues,
as the Spirit gave them utterance."
He is the God Person who is in Charge of the Church (Body of Christ) in
the World. "Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the
which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which
he hath purchased with his own blood."
He
leads people in the ways of God, reveals the Word of God as well as Jesus Christ
to them. "John
16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into
all truth: for ---"
He gives them gifts for
the maturity of the Church.
"Psa 68:18
--- thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the
rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them."
He
makes sons of God by their obedience to his leading.
"Rom 8:1
There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
He abides with the believer in order to rapture them at the second coming of
Jesus Christ. "Rom
8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he
that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his
Spirit that dwelleth in you."
