What does it means that Jesus Christ Saved me?

Evangelical Christians say “Jesus Christ saved me” as their witness. What does it means? It means that Jesus Christ has exempted them from the punishment in hell for committing sins making the righteous judgment of God void. Is it true? let us look into scriptures.

Jesus Christ saves his people from their sins; that is, he saves them from the very act of sinning itself. Once they are saved from the monster called Sin, which is the act of sinning, they will not commit sin anymore. As this is done, Jesus Christ forgives their past sins. Now, past sins are forgiven, freed from future sins, and so they are saved from sins. Since they have no sins, there is no punishment to them for sins. This is how the Lord Jesus Christ saves his people from their sins.

But, Preachers twist the verses of the Bible to preach something else. They say that Jesus Christ saves Christians from the punishment for sins and allow them to enjoy their sins. They also say that nobody can stop sinning as long as they are alive. They do not know the power of God in his grace. They even twist the meaning of grace, power and Spirit of God to show that God saves Christians form hell, but not from their sins. When they say Jesus Christ saved them, it is just a bluff and they go to hell.

1. Jesus Christ saves those who obey him from their sins

“Mat 1:21... call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sinsThis verse points to two things. (1) Jesus will save his people only. His people are those who obey him. “Heb 5:9 ... the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him Preachers say Christians are his people and obedience is not an issue. (2) Jesus will save them from their sins. That is, the escape is from their sins and thus it is escape from the punishment for sins. Preachers say that Jesus Christ saves them from the punishment for sins, but not from sins. Preachers twist the verses of the Bible and most Christians like it.

2. They heap to themselves teachers having itching ears

Preachers may know the word of God. But they will not preach the truth, but preach what people desire to hear. They do not want to lose their congregation (fans) and their remuneration. “2 Ti 4:3 ... the time will come ... they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” But, God will throw them into the furnace of fire on the judgment day. How do I know? It is because our Lord Jesus Christ said so. “Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

3. Sin reigned unto death Grace reign through righteousness unto life

“Rom 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” Sin controls or reigns a person unto eternal death that is hell. But, grace reigns a person through righteousness unto eternal life. Grace is opposite power to sin. Grace of God will displace sin with the righteousness of God (not human righteousness) and leads the person to eternal life. Our Lord Jesus Christ gives his grace to obedient humble people and makes it happen. But preachers say that our Lord Jesus Christ gives us grace that leads Christians to eternal life through sins. This is absurd. A person either has grace or sin but not both at the same time. Grace destroys sin. Grace is the combination of doctrine, revelation, power, and presence of God. It is the imparted seed of God. “1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” Grace reigns a person through righteousness of God. If a person lives without the righteousness of God, he/she does not have the grace of God. Preachers preach a false grace, which is a magic blanket, that carries filth into heaven. But no filth can enter heaven.

4. Wages of sin is death

Here, we see two scenarios. First scenario explains how to receive eternal life and the second scenario explains how people receive eternal death. “Rom 6:22 ... now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” In order to earn eternal death what all they have to do is to commit sin. This is so easy. Most Christians do just that. But, in order to receive the gift of eternal life, we must be (1) made free from sins, (2) become true servants to God, (3) show the proof of being a servant of God, which is living a holy life. The reward for these three steps is the gift of eternal life and it is given by our Lord Jesus Christ. But, preachers give a little twist to the word of God and read it to mean different. First, they will not refer verse 22 as if it does not exist. Then they just admit that the wages of sin is death, but quickly they say that instead of death God gives the gift of eternal life to sinners (this is not scripture, they just make it up). That is, they say things to mean that the gift for committing sins is eternal life, which is just opposite to what the word of God says.

5. Forgiven, Sanctified and Perfected

If we walk in righteousness as Jesus Christ walked in righteousness, then our past sins will be forgiven. “1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light...the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” But, preachers say that as soon as we ask Jesus Christ to forgive our sins, all our sins that are past, present and future are forgiven by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. “Rom 3:25 ... God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;” The blood of Jesus Christ applies for the remission of the past sins only and they are forgiven when we are converted to sin no more.

Here Jesus Christ cleanse all unrighteousness, which is the cause for sinning. Then he forgives his/her past sins and thus take away sin from the person.“1 John 1:9 ...to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin:” Once it is cleansed the person will have no more craving for sin and he/she is sanctified. “Heb 10:2 ... the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience (it is not conviction, but it is craving) of sins... 10 By the which will we are sanctified (made clean) through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all Preachers do not preach the work of cleansing, which is sanctification, of Jesus Christ. But if cleansing is not done (if we do not walk in the light, as he is in the light), the sinner is not forgiven.

Old Testament sacrifices were offered repeatedly for forgiveness, but never could take away the sins. Jesus Christ sacrificed himself once to take away the sins permanently. “Heb 10:4 ... it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins .... 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified Jesus Christ thus forgives the past sins of his people, sanctifies them, and perfects them. He took away their sins. Sin never enter them since they are not unrighteous.

6. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, the truth is not in us

Preachers use this as an universal message and preach that every body will sin as long as they live. But this verse 8 is pointed to the people in verse 6 only. They are walking in darkness and saying that they have fellowship with Jesus Christ. Verse 8 is a rebuke to them. Further, verse 7 says that the blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed all sins of those who came into the truth of God. So, here we see two group of people. First group are sinners pretending that they are okay and the next group has their sins cleaned by walking in the light of Christ. So, verse 8 applies to the first group only. “1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousnessVerse 9 says two things. Sins forgiven and unrighteousness cleansed. This person is free from all unrighteousness, which is the root of sin. So, he/she does not sins anymore.

7. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners

“1 Ti 1:15 ... Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners ...” Sinners are servants or slaves to sin. Or, we may say that they are addicted to sin. Jesus Christ came to save sinners from the addiction of sin or from the slavery of sin. That is, Jesus Christ came to save them from sinning. Holy people do not have to be saved since they are already saved by God since they are not addicted to sin.

8. Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil

Jesus Christ saves a person from sin nature and thus the person is saved from sin or sinning. “Mat 1:21 ... call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” The work of the devil is to induce people to commit sin. Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil so that people may not sin. “1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil

9. He saved us by the washing of regeneration, renewing of the Holy Ghost

“Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” The logic here is a little tricky. A liar will not tell lies all the time. He may tell a truth also. A murderer does not kill 24 hours a day. Once in a while he may protect some one. So also, unrighteous people may also do some work of righteousness. But God saves them not because of this righteousness but because God is merciful. How does God save them is the vital point here. It is by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. They are made new. They are the workmanship of God. “Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; ... 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Saved persons are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus. They do good works. A person who does not do good works of righteousness he/she is not saved.

10. By grace ye are saved, not of works lest any man should boast

The following ten verses are very important in the scripture. False teachers quote only certain portions of these verses to preach false doctrines. Let us read the verses. “Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Let us see first how the false preachers preach. Frequently they quote verses 5, 8 and 9. “5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)... 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.” From verse 5 they say that when we are dead in sin God resurrected us to be with Jesus Christ. God saved us from hell by his grace because of his love and mercy That is, sinners enter heaven by the grace of God. From verse 8 they say that we must have faith that God will take us to heaven, it is a gift to sinners and it has nothing to do with what we do. Verse 9 confirms that it is not of our works. Put it all together we got that a sinner will go to heaven if he/she believe that Jesus Christ will take him/her to heaven as a gift no matter what we do. As good as it looks, it is false teaching and it is the deception of the devil. The devil, who deceived Eve at the Garden of Eden, still deceives.

Now let us see what are these ten important verses say. “1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:” God says that those who were in trespasses and sins are dead. God quickened (resurrected) them out of trespasses and sins. They are not in it anymore since as long as they are in it they are dead. It is wrong to say that God has resurrected them but they are still in trespasses and sins.

The next two verses defines what saved is. “2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.” A conversion that happened to a group of people is explained here. They lived according to the course of this world, according to the leading of Satan, in the lust of the flesh (sexual), and fulfilling the desires of the flesh and mind. This was in the time past but not in time present. That is, they lived as sinners in the time past, but they do not live the life of sin anymore. This conversion is referred as God has quickened (resurrected) them from death in verses 1and 5. Further verses 2 and 3 say that (1) sin is disobedience to God, (2) it is the work of Satan and (3) sinners are the children of the wrath of God. But, preachers preach that God loves sinners. But it is not true. God's wrath is upon them.

Verses 4 and 5 say that God saved them by his grace because of his mercy and love. “4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)” Verse 6 says that even though physically they are on earth, spiritually they are seated in heaven in Jesus Christ. Verse 7 says that God did it to show the riches of his grace. “6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” Verse 8 says that grace and faith are gifts of God. Verse 9 says it is not of our works. “8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.” As it is true, preachers do not realize that God will not give his gifts to those who do not obey God. Disobedient people are children of wrath and they are waiting for the wrath of God.

“10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Saved or converted people are the workmanship of God. They will be doing good works of righteousness and holiness that God has ordained them to do. If anybody do not walk in this path, it is proof that they are not the workmanship of God and they are not saved.

11. What does it means that Jesus Christ Saved me?

I was a sinner, who was lead by the world and the devil. I did lustful sin with my body and mind. Then God convicted me and I started to obey God. God has converted me by his grace. Now I live righteous holy life. That is, Jesus Christ saved me from my sins. I will inherit his kingdom as his son. “Mat 1:21 ... call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Heb 5:9 .. he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. ... 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together

If we love God with reverential fear, we will obey God - We will stop sinning.
