God the Word existed from the beginning. He was
Spirit. "John 4:24
God is a Spirit:..."
God was made flesh and became the man, Jesus of
Nazareth. "John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. 14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us."
God became a
man in order to be sacrificed as the Lamb of God for the forgiveness of the
sins of his people.
"1Pet 1:18
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as
silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your
fathers; 19
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and
without spot:---"
By his supreme sacrifice he became the author of
our salvation and he pardons those who obey Him.
"Heb 5:9 And
being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all
them that obey him;." But he rejects those who call him Lord and not
obey him. "Matt 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
'God
the Word' became a man. The man further humbled himself, became obedient
unto the death of the cross. So God the Father (Most High God) raised
him up from the dead and exalted him to the Utmost Position so that every knee should
bow to Him and everyone shall call Him
the Lord. "Phil 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he
humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above
every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things
in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And
that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father."
Thus the Man Jesus became the Lord Jesus Christ.
"Acts
2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord
and Christ."
When
Jesus of Nazareth was crucified, dead and buried God has raised Jesus from the
death and declared him as 'the Begotten Son of God'. This
action of God was prophesied in the second Psalm and the fulfillment is
explained in the thirteenth chapter of the book of Acts. "Acts 13:32 And we declare
unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33
God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in
that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second
psalm,
Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
Ps
2:7 I will declare
the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I
begotten thee."
When God the Most High declared Jesus as the begotten Son, he also calls him God.
God the Holy Spirit also repeats and calls him God. Thus the Lord Jesus Christ has
become God.
"Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith,
Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of
righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9
Thou hast loved
righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God,
hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows."
When he became God,
he has got his name back, which is the Word. "1
John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
